Viva claims HD voice first

Viva Bahrain, backed by Saudi Telecom Company, announced on 29 March 2014 that it is Bahrain’s first telecoms operator to offer mobile HD (High Definition) voice technology for its customers across the Kingdom. With the introduction of mobile HD voice services, the cellco’s customers are promised ‘crystal clear audio quality for calls between mobile phones … when receiving or making calls from an HD voice-compatible smartphone without having to register for this premium capability and at no [additional] cost.’
