Tele2 introduces new macro-regional structure ahead of Rostelecom merger

27 Mar 2014

Tele2 Russia has announced changes in its macro-regional structure as a part of its impending merger with Rostelecom’s mobile assets. The company has tweaked its operational set-up to include nine macro-regions instead of the current seven. The changes have seen Tele2 create a new ‘Moscow’ branch, while dividing the ‘Volga-Urals’ department into two separate macro-regions. Following the integration of the two businesses, the new federal operator will provide services in more than 60 Russian regions with a combined subscriber base of approximately 38 million.
