JCI to establish a new MVNO subsidiary

Japan Communications Inc (JCI) has announced that its management team has decided to establish a new wholly-owned subsidiary, tentatively called Crew Systems, which will provide mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) services from April 2014. JCI said that the decision was taken after the company’s MVNO operations recorded ‘a dramatic increase in the number of new subscribers’, with user numbers quadrupling over a six-month period.
