Shine Gibraltar owner examining sale options?

18 Mar 2014

Gibraltar-based Shine Mobile is said to have been put up for sale by its owner, according to TMT Finance. With the cellco having launched services in September 2013 its current backer, Eazi Telecom, has reportedly hired Linkstone Capital to advise on the sale, which could start within weeks. A valuation has, however, yet to be announced.

Shine Mobile says it has constructed its own ‘independent state-of-the art network and antenna sites with millions invested so as to better serve both Gibraltar and its surrounding area’ and claims to offer ‘excellent’ 2G and 3G coverage of Gibraltar and parts of El Campo de Gibraltar. Focused exclusively on the mobile services, Shine is initially only offering pre-paid plans, although its website states that contract plans and data packages are ‘coming soon’.
