Zon Optimus 2013 revenues down slightly on a pro forma basis

Zon Optimus (Zopt), the Portuguese telecoms operator formed via the merger of domestic operators Zon Multimedia and Optimus earlier this year, has reported operating revenues of EUR1.426 billion (USD1.951 billion) for the twelve month period ended 31 December 2013, down from EUR1.473 billion on a pro forma basis. EBITDA for 2013 dropped from EUR541.4 million to EUR536.6 million on a pro forma basis, while net income slumped from EUR114.3 million to EUR63.4 million.

In operational terms, Zopt reported a total mobile subscriber base of 3.243 million at end-2013, of which 2.251 million were pre-paid customers. The number of broadband users stood at 922,100 at the same date, while fixed voice subscriptions were reported at 1.515 million.
