Number of Azercell base stations reaches 5,500

Azercell, Azerbaijan’s largest mobile operator by subscribers, has revealed that it added a further 1,200 base stations to its network in 2013, bringing its total to around 5,500 at the end of the year, Trend reports. LTE base stations numbered over 260 by end-2013, with 4G services covering the city of Baku and the Absheron peninsula, while Azercell’s 2G mobile network is available to 99.8% of the population.
