Court dismisses Avea’s lawsuits against Turkcell

26 Feb 2014

Turkish mobile network operator Turkcell has announced that two lawsuits filed by domestic rival Avea (formerly TT&TIM) have been dismissed. According to a report from 4-Traders, Avea filed two lawsuits against Turkcell claiming a total of TRY87 million (USD39.5 million) for incurred losses by alleging that Turkcell’s on-net tariffs were under the call termination fees in the periods of June-July 2009 and November 2009-January 2010. The court made its decision after concluding that Turkcell’s claims were justifiable.
