Chunghwa calls on Ericsson for real-time charging and policy control solution

Chunghwa Telecom has selected Ericsson as the consulting and systems integrator of an online charging system (OCS) and policy and charging rules function (PCRF), the latter has announced. Under the terms of the deal between the two companies, a new BSS (business support systems) environment will be deployed by the Swedish vendor which will include a single integrated online charging and policy control solution that serves pre-paid and post-paid subscribers. Such a solution will reportedly allow Chunghwa to offer subscribers real-time control of their service usage and account balances, while also providing an enhanced user experience.
