Argentinian cellcos implement per-second billing

18 Feb 2014

Argentina’s mobile operators have implemented per-second billing at the behest of the Secretaria de Comunicaciones (SeCom), TeleSemana reports. As previously noted by TeleGeography’s CommsUpdate, in December 2013 Planning Minister Julio De Vido and Communications Minister Norberto Berner jointly announced that per-second billing in the country will be applied after the first 30 seconds of a mobile phone call, with mobile operators including Claro, Movistar and Personal all expected to implement the change within 15 days, for new customers, and 60 days for existing subscribers.
