Mobily, Ciena provide advanced business connectivity in Saudi Arabia

12 Feb 2014

Saudi Arabian telco Etihad Etisalat (Mobily), in conjunction with equipment vendor Ciena Corporation, has unveiled a range of advanced connectivity services, which are aimed at the enterprise and public sectors in the country. According to a joint press release, the services, which are delivered over Mobily’s next generation fibre-optic network, provide highly redundant and flexible bandwidth scaling from 1Gbps to 1Tbps, to support the cost-effective transmission of mission-critical applications. In December 2013, the two companies completed a live 1Tbps field trial across Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.
