Numericable fibre network passes five million home milestone

10 Feb 2014

French cable operator Numericable has passed five million homes with its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network and now accounts for three quarters of the country’s ‘very high speed connections’, according to figures compiled by telecom regulator Arcep. Numericable provides high speed internet access to 75% of the French population, serving 1.353 million of France’s 1.845 million ‘ultra-high speed’ subscribers. Further, the cableco has confirmed its objective to pass 8.5 million households by end-2016.
