Three companies line up for EIT stake in TT

23 Jan 2014

Three telecoms groups have registered an interest in purchasing Emirates International Telecommunications’ (EIT’s) 35% stake in state-controlled telco Tunisie Telecom (TT), Agence Ecofin writes, citing Habib Dababi, an advisor to the minister of information and communication technology. Turkcell, Orange Group and South Korea’s KT Corp have all lodged their interest in acquiring the shares, following a government decision ruling that the buyer would have to be a ‘developer of value’ – an experienced telco – rather than a financial partner.
