Russian Towers, ESN hire banks to prepare Vimpelcom tower bids

Macquarie-backed infrastructure fund Russian Towers has hired Morgan Stanley to advise it on a bid for Vimpelcom’s 7,000-strong telecoms tower portfolio, valued at up to USD1bn, TMT Finance has reported. Meanwhile, rival bidder ESN Group has hired Ernst & Young to advise on its own bid. The sales process is expected to commence in January 2014, although informal discussions have already taken place.
