Macedonian incumbent Makedonski Telekom (MakTel) has postponed a decision on the proposed merger of T-Mobile Macedonia and MakTel, without stating the reason for its decision. According to Telecompaper, at the same meeting the board also shelved plans concerning the adoption of new statutes at the company. TeleGeography notes that last month, MakTel announced it was holding an extraordinary shareholders meeting on 20 December to discuss and vote on the proposed merger with mobile unit T-Mobile Macedonia. No details have been disclosed on whether or not that merger, which was originally expected to be completed by the year end, will be reconsidered at a later date.
