Tele2 completes 3G network modernisation

11 Dec 2013

Tele2 Lithuania has announced the completion of an upgrade of its entire 3G network across the country. Since the modernisation work began in April 2012, Tele2 has upgraded over 600 3G base stations and has rolled out a 10Gbps backbone network connecting the country’s major cities, while the Swedish-owned company has also updated its customer database management software. A press release from the cellco adds that it is continuing to upgrade its 2G network, around 85% of which has already been modernised.
