Numericable, France’s leading cable broadband operator by subscribers, has signed a merger agreement with French internet service provider (ISP) and cable network operator Valvision, valued at EUR4.966 million (USD6.827 million). According to a company’s press release, following the merger, which has taken effect retroactively from 1 January 2013, Valvision will transfer all of its assets to Numericable. The reorganisation is due to ‘a need for legal, accounting and financial simplification, as well as an objective rationalisation.’
