New Ivorian watchdog created following amalgamation of ATCI and CTCI

Abidjan-based watchdog the Agence des Telecommunications de Cote d’Ivoire (ATCI) has announced that it has changed its name to the Autorite de Regulation des Telecommunications/TIC de Cote d’Ivoire (ARTCI). The decision was established by Decree No. 2012-293 dated 21 March 2012, which defined the terms of the merger between the Conseil des Telecommunications de Cote d’Ivoire (CTCI) and the ATCI. Going forward, the ARTCI will operate as an independent administrative authority with complete financial autonomy.
