Russia’s State Radio Frequency Commission (SRFC) has reportedly endorsed plans by MegaFon, and its new 4G-focused subsidiary Yota, to trial Long Term Evolution-Advanced (LTE-A) technology in and around Moscow. Prime business news agency, citing an internal SRFC document, claims that the move will be given the green light at a meeting scheduled for this month; the companies’ initial request for spectrum dates back to August 2012. The duo will be given test spectrum in the 2500MHz-2540MHz and 2620MHz-2660MHz bands, which will initially be available until 31 March 2015.
