The Director of the Guinea’s telecoms watchdog Autorite de Regulation des Postes et Telecom (ARPT), the Directorate General of Guinea Orange and Orange workers’ union delegation have met to try to resolve the crisis currently affecting Orange Guinea, the country’s biggest cellco in terms of subscribers, which has been raging for nearly a month, Agence Ecofin reports. According to the article, Orange Guinea’s employees initiated a strike in September 2013 to demand improvements to their working conditions, including an increase in salaries by 50%, tuition fees for up to three children and health insurance. Previous negotiations between the involved parties have failed to reach a satisfactory outcome.
