As a result of action taken by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that affects carriers in the United States and its organised, unincorporated territories, Innovative Telephone, Innovative Wireless and Innovative Long Distance customers have seen Federal Universal Service Charges (FUSC) increase from 15.10% to 15.60% from 1 October 2013. The FUSC surcharge recovers the costs associated with the carriers’ contributions to the federal universal service fund programme, which is designed to help keep service rates affordable for all customers, in all areas of the US.
