Smart Communications, the mobile division of Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PLDT), has trimmed the cost of its Long Term Evolution (LTE) devices, Telecompaper reports without citing its sources. The mobile carrier is reportedly cutting the cost of its Smart Bro Prepaid LTE Plug-It for desktop and notebook PCs to PHP3,888 (USD90.3), while the price of the Smart Bro Prepaid LTE Pocket WiFi is being reduced from PHP6,995 to PHP4,888. The latter is capable of connecting up to ten separate mobile devices at the same time.
