US-backed cableco UPC Cablecom has purchased a 49% stake in corporate voice-over-internet protocol (VoIP) provider e-fon for an undisclosed sum, the companies announced yesterday. The two businesses will remain independent but will both expand the range of products and services offered to business customers as a result of the deal. e-fon’s subscriber base consists of more than 3,000 corporate contracts.
