Japanese-backed wireless provider Tata Docomo has announced plans to expand its mobile data services in all metro service areas, the Economic Times writes. Tata Docomo aims to roll out its CDMA-based ‘Photon Max’ offering to India’s largest cities by the end of March 2014. Photon Max offers maximum theoretical speeds of 6.2Mbps/3.6Mbps (downlink/uplink) and is currently available in 34 cities across 14 circles. Aditya Gupta, the head of Tata’s mobile business for Mumbai added that ‘For the first time ever in the industry Tata Docomo Photon Max will offer lifetime validity for its prepay customers.’ New customers will receive 10GB of additional data, valid for 30 days, for INR300 (USD4.76).
