Two Russian cellular operators have announced extensions to their 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks. Wireless market leader Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) has revealed that it has completed the first phase of its LTE rollout in Primorye, Khabarovsk and Amur regions, following on from Friday’s announcement that it had deployed stage one of its 4G network in the Pskov region in partnership with equipment supplier Samsung. Meanwhile, rival operator MegaFon has introduced LTE-based services in Omsk in southwestern Siberia. The firm says its 4G networks are now live in all cities in Siberia with more than one million inhabitants.
