Telecom Italia (TI) is considering a sale of its wireless towers, a person with direct knowledge of the matter has told Bloomberg. The carrier is weighing the creation of a new company which will be given the responsibility to look after Telecom Italia Mobile’s (TIM’s) 12,000 base transceiver station (BTS), before putting the new entity up for sale. The assets are expected to be valued at between EUR500 million (USD676 million) to EUR1 billion, the unnamed source revealed.
