Mobile operator Orange Armenia has launched its dual-carrier (DC)-HSPA+ network in the city of Ararat, offering subscribers there maximum download speeds of 42Mbps. The city is the fifth in Armenia to enjoy DC-HSPA+ technology, the others being the capital, Yerevan, Gyumri, Vanadzor and Etchmiadzin. Outside the cellco’s 42Mbps coverage, more than 95% of the population is offered a network with a maximum 21Mbps 3.5G service. Commenting on the launch, Orange Armenia CEO Francis Gelibter, said: ‘Orange is the only mobile operator in Armenia, which offers modern 42Mbps high speed network in Yerevan and four other areas. Today there is a great demand for quality internet all over the territory of Armenia. Hence we’ll continue expanding the geography of our 42Mbps network in other towns as well.’
