Sprint Corporation (formerly Sprint Nextel) has announced that it has switched on its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network in 34 new markets, taking its total number of cities covered to 185. New LTE markets include Amarillo, Texas; Macon, Georgia; and Lake Charles, Louisiana. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Sprint already offers LTE in major cities such as Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles and San Juan (Puerto Rico). The mobile giant is aiming to provide LTE services to 200 million people by the end of 2013.
