Zimbabwean converged services operator Africom has signed a voice interconnection agreement with state-owned cellco NetOne, TechZim reports. According to the article, the interconnection agreement has been finalised two years after Africom initially interconnected its voice-over-IP (VoIP)-based services with cellcos Econet, Telecel and the country’s fixed line operator, TelOne. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Africom offers wireless voice and data services over a CDMA network covering Harare and seven other cities; the company’s IP-based voice services are provided under its ‘Class A’ internet access provider (IAP) licence.
