Philippines telco Globe Telecom has launched new high speed internet packages for households powered by 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) wireless technology. According to a report from ABS-CBN News, the operator now has almost 1,000 LTE base stations in service, and it is offering connectivity to residential customers under its Tattoo Home Broadband portfolio. An internet-only plan offering downloads at up to 3Mbps costs PHP999 (USD22.46) a month, while a package which also includes unlimited calls to Globe customers costs PHP1,599. The service has so far been launched in areas of Metro Manila and select cities in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Jurist Gamban, head of Tattoo Home Broadband, commented: ‘With this latest offering, we are able to reach more households around the country who initially did not have access to high-speed broadband.’
