Cox Communications has announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire EasyTEL Communications, a provider of voice, data and video services to commercial customers in the Tulsa market. The acquisition is designed to provide Cox Business with a deeper metropolitan fibre footprint in the region, and after the transaction closes, Cox Business will boast a network covering approximately 95,000 fibre route miles, and connecting over 21,000 on-net buildings. Percy Kirk, general manager of Cox Communications (Central Region), commented: ‘Cox Business and EasyTEL share the same philosophy on customer experience and technology innovation. We are thrilled to combine our robust fibre networks and strong commitment to service excellence to help Tulsa businesses grow and succeed with speed, reliability and the most advanced set of business services in Oklahoma.’ The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions; the financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.
