Telecom New Zealand has reported adjusted total revenues of NZD4.174 billion (USD3.270 billion) for the twelve month period ended 30 June 2013, down 8.1% from NZD4.540 billion in the corresponding period one year earlier. EBITDA came in at NZD1.043 billion, down 0.5% from NZD1.048 million for the year-ago period, while net earnings increased 21.7% from NZD281 million to NZD342 million. CAPEX for the year under review was NZD465 million, up 18.6% from NZD392 million for the previous year.
In operational terms, Telecom reported a 4.7% decline in the number of Retail and Gen-i fixed access lines from 1.049 million in FY12 to 1.000 million at the end of FY13, while broadband connections rose 4.8% to 649,000, from 619,000 at 30 June 2012. Meanwhile, total mobile connections decreased 10.6% from 2.031 million in FY12 to 1.815 million at the end of FY13, impacted by the closure of Telecom’s CDMA network in July 2012.
