Lithuanian broadband and television operator Cgates has increased the internet speed for around 15,000 customers in Vilnius and Kaunas at no additional cost. The move has seen the maximum download speed of a number of the company’s plans – including ‘Namai S’ and ‘Duentas M’ – increased to 100Mbps. Cgates, which also owns Mikrovisatos TV, began upgrading its broadband infrastructure in 2010 and today its high speed fibre-optic network is available to 85% of the firm’s customer base in Vilnius, Alytus, Marijampole, Vilkaviskis, Silute, Lentvaris and Kaunas.
