Venezuelan cable TV, telephony and internet operator NetUno has asked the country’s telecoms regulator Conatel for permission to launch direct-to-home (DTH) satellite TV services so that it can expand its TV coverage across the whole country. The operator currently has around 100,000 TV subscribers on its cable systems in nine cities, but says it is hoping to attract around 300,000 new customers over the next three years with the launch of DTH services. NetUno is investing around USD15 million in the project BNamericas reports, citing Rapid TV News.
