Thai state-owned telco CAT Telecom has launched an over-the-top (OTT) entertainment streaming service to broadband internet subscribers on CAT’s 3G mobile and fixed line networks, in partnership with IPTV software and systems provider Oregan Networks. As reported by Telecompaper, an internet streaming set-top box powered by Oregan’s middleware delivers information widgets, user generated content, and pay-TV channels via multicast and unicast modes, and also enables users to stream personal content from home network devices. The UK’s Packetship provided HLS adaptive bitrate video and AES content encryption servers, integrated by Oregan’s Thai representative Digital Media Interface.
