12 Mar 2013

Croatian cellco VIPnet, part of the Telekom Austria group, has bought direct to home (DTH) satellite TV operator Digi Satellite Television (Digi TV), extending its TV service footprint to the entire territory of Croatia. VIPnet, which already offers TV packages via its wholly owned cable division B.Net Croatia as well as an IPTV platform launched last October, acquired 100% of Digi TV for an undisclosed sum from Romanian multi-play operator RCS&RDS. Digi TV was launched in Croatia in 2006 and had revenues of HRK14.7 million (USD2.5 million) in 2012.
