Claro 4G rollout reaches trial stage

12 Mar 2013

RCR Wireless writes that Claro Chile has begun trialling its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, completing what it describes as the nation’s first call over a 4G network albeit using circuit switch fall back (CSFB) to the cellco’s 3G platform. The call was made late last week between the Undersecretary of Communications Jorge Atton and CEO of Claro Chile Gerardo Munoz. The call marked the launch of the test phase of the carrier’s new network which will see 100 users trial the system in Santiago.
