Andorra gears up for VoD launch

12 Mar 2013

Andorra Telecom has deployed systems from Broadpeak and Viaccess-Orca to support the launch of a new video-on-demand (VoD) service, Broadband TV News reports. Andorra Telecom has rolled out Broadpeak’s content delivery network (CDN) manager and Viaccess-Orca’s service delivery platform with Sofrecom acting as system integrator. No date has been set for the launch of the new VoD service. Joan-Marc Lauga, CTO of Andorra Telecom commented on the deployment: ‘Broadpeak’s CDN server technologies feature a massive streaming and recording capacity that can incrementally grow to support our increasing volume of VoD assets. As part of a fully integrated solution that includes Viaccess-Orca’s award-winning, scalable service delivery platform, Broadpeak solutions will allow us to cost effectively add other advanced video services such as network-based personal video recording (nPVR) and Over-the-top (OTT) in the future.’
