The Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) has announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with its Mozambican counterpart Instituto Nacional das Communicacoes de Mocambique (INCM) on cross border frequency coordination. Among other things, the MoU aims to manage interference of radio communication systems between the two countries, promote roaming between telecoms operators, and coordinate broadcasting signal distribution activities. MACRA said the signing of the agreement was a response to complaints from members of the public facing cross border interference with neighbouring countries including Mozambique, Tanzania and Zambia.
