Bosnia’s Telekom Srpske, which offers services under the m:tel banner, has reported what it termed ‘excellent business results’ for the year ended 31 December 2012, with the operator saying that despite difficult economic circumstances, it had ‘followed precisely defined strategic aims’. In the year under review, Telekom Srpske saw revenues and expenses had both increased by 1% year-on-year, while net profit rose by 2% to BAM109.96 million (USD73 million). CAPEX in 2012 totalled BAM423.72 million.
The operator claimed to have a leading 44.6% market share at end-2012, reporting a mobile subscriber base of 1.415 million, up 3% compared to the same date a year earlier. The telco also noted that broadband services continued to develop in 2012, with ADSL subscribers numbering 110,204 at the end of the year (up from 98,894 a year earlier). Fixed line connections however continued to decline, standing at 305,230 at December 2012, down from 320,131 at the end of 2011.
