MyRepublica reports that Nepal’s state-owned national PTO Nepal Telecom (NT) has finally launched broadband internet WiMAX services for business and residential users, in the country’s far-western development region. The telco has been forced to push back its WiMAX launch several times, due to ongoing problems in sourcing appropriate customer premises equipment (CPE), such as USB dongles. NT unveiled its commercial WiMAX offer for business users back in November 2012 and promised that a residential offer would follow within a month, however its plans have been beset with issues arising from CPE procurement.
