Drillisch posts 20% rise in FY EBITDA

German mobile service provider Drillisch has announced its provisional consolidated financial results for the year ended 31 December 2012, reporting a 7.3% year-on-year decrease in revenue to EUR323.7 million (USD426.6 million). Service revenue totalled EUR301.8 million in 2012, relatively flat compared to EUR303.1 million the previous year, although adjusted service revenue (excluding the sale of pre-paid accounts sold in the first half of 2012) increased 7.1% to EUR292.1 million. The company said that gross profit climbed 5.9% year-on-year to EUR108.9 million, while earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 20.3% from EUR51.4 million in 2011 to EUR61.9 million twelve months later. Drillisch has raised its profit forecast for 2013 and now expects EBITDA of between EUR67 million and EUR70 million.

At 31 December 2012 Drillisch reported a total of 1.910 million customers (a decrease from 2.55 million a year earlier), of which 217,000 were pre-paid users (down from 1.038 million at end-2011, following a clean-up and partial sale of its pay-as-you-go customer accounts base) and 1.693 million were post-paid subscribers (an increase of 12% year-on-year).
