T-Mobile’s Czech mobile operation has reported a 2.5% fall in earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) to CZK12.2 billion (USD624.6 million) for full-year 2012, on revenues that dipped 2.0% to CZK26.3 billion. The carrier added 117,000 net new users for a total of 5.5 million by 31 December 2012, it said in a press release. Last year the cellco reported that average minutes of use (MOU) stood at 133 minutes, up 5.6% year-on-year, aided by its lower price plans and a series of high-profile advertising campaigns. The volume of data carried over its network also doubled y-o-y it said to almost 3,500 terabytes, reflecting an increased emphasis on data for its customers. Data as a proportion of overall revenues increased by two percentage points in 2012 to 27%, it said. Further, T-Mobile CR said that the number of mobile subscribers with a contract climbed 7% to 3.07 million last year, and average blended monthly ARPU was CZK362 per month – down 4.7% y-o-y. Monthly churn improved to 1.1% from 1.3%.
