Slovak Telekom posts 9.4% EBITDA drop on 6.7% revenue decline

Slovak Telekom has reported that its consolidated EBITDA fell by 9.4% to EUR352.3 million (USD462.2 million) in 2012 on full-year revenues which slumped by 6.7% to EUR837.4 million. Fixed broadband lines in service increased by 3.5% to 480,000 at 31 December 2012 and digital TV customers climbed by 9.3% to 175,000, partly offsetting a 6.0% fall in the number of fixed lines to 960,000 in the year. However, total cellular (T-Mobile) subscriptions fell by 0.6% year-on-year to 2.311 million at end-2012 and mobile average revenue per user (ARPU) decreased by 7.1% to EUR13.9, driving down overall turnover.
