Telekom Austria FY revenues drop 2.8% to EUR4.33bn

Telekom Austria Group has reported consolidated revenues of EUR4.33 billion (USD5.66 billion) for the twelve months ended 31 December 2012, down 2.8% from EUR4.45 billion one year earlier. The group’s domestic unit continues to account for the lion’s share of company revenues, posting sales of EUR2.79 billion in 2012, albeit down 5.3% y-o-y. Only Belarus and the ‘Additional Markets’ (Serbia, Slovenia, Macedonia) witnessed increased revenues, with Bulgaria and Croatia also seeing sales slump due to ‘macro-economic headwinds’. Group EBITDA dropped 4.7% year-on-year to EUR1.46 billion while operating income increased to EUR456.8 million, compared to a deficit of EUR7.6 million in FY2011. Net income from 2012 was EUR103.8 million, up from a loss of EUR252.8 million in the year-ago period. CAPEX for 2012 dropped 1.5% from EUR739.0 million to EUR728.2 million.
