FET ends year with healthy bottom line growth

Taiwanese cellco Far EasTone (FET) has registered a 19.2% increase in net profits for the year ended 31 December 2012, booking income of TWD10.63 billion (USD357.9 million). Annual revenues rose 14.5% to TWD86.75 billion, offsetting a TWD2.7 billion increase in operating expenses to TWD21.51 billion. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) for the year were TWD24.36 billion with an EBITDA margin of 28.1%. FET ended the year with 6.945 million wireless subscribers – compared to 6.618 million a year earlier – of which 1.553 million were pre-paid users, 497,000 were on post-paid 2G plans and 4.895 million were on 3G contracts.
