Verizon Wireless pondering first international LTE roaming partner

27 Feb 2013

Verizon Wireless expects to sign its first international roaming agreement for Long Term Evolution (LTE) users later this year, Reuters reports. Verizon Wireless chief technology officer Nicola Palmer told the news agency that LTE roaming agreements have been delayed because so many operators are behind in upgrading their networks from 3G to 4G, adding: ‘Getting 4G roaming for our customers is going to take a while. These relationships will take some time to put in place’. The mobile giant currently boasts around 200 international roaming agreements in place for 3G users.
