ETB to make decision on cableco acquisition

27 Feb 2013

State-backed telco Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Bogota (ETB) is expected to make a decision on the planned takeover of cable TV provider Ingelcom by 19 March, NexTV Latam reports. The deal is estimated to be worth USD6.64 million and would see ETB take control of the Cucuta-based cableco, which operates under the Telered brand, including its 12,000 pay-TV subscribers. ETB is looking to expand its user base and coverage by acquiring smaller operators in regions that it does not already have a presence.
