French-US equipment maker Alcatel-Lucent and Dutch incumbent KPN Telecom have announced a five-year managed services agreement under which the former will effect the transformation of KPN’s fixed network in The Netherlands over the next five years. In addition to managing the day-to-day operations of the carrier’s network, Alca-Lu will migrate existing voice and transport networks to next generation technologies under the plan, it said. As such, the vendor will plan, design and implement an end-to-end solution to provide KPN’s network with increased capacity, upgraded equipment, and advanced customer service processes.
