Vodafone NL deploys Cisco software solution

San Jose-based Cisco Systems says it has deployed its Cisco Quantum software-based networking solution for the Netherland’s second largest mobile operator by subscribers, Vodafone NL. In a press release, the vendor confirmed the supply of its Broadband Network Gateway (BNG) service manager on the carrier’s network, enabling it ‘to increase scalability and service velocity for its enterprise customers’. As such, the Cisco Quantum software suite will allow Vodafone to offer its customers tiered broadband access services with flexible quota and application-level usage controls, it said.
