Orange Dominicana to spend USD100m in 2013

According to local newspaper Diario Libre, Orange Dominicana plans to invest USD100 million in the Dominican Republic this year, part of which will be spent on improving the company’s business services as well as network infrastructure upgrades. Armand Toonen, vice president of Orange Business, a unit of Orange Dominicana, confirmed the figure while unveiling a series of new business plans specifically targeting small and medium enterprises (SMEs), as well as various plans for businesses in general and families. Data from TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database shows that the cellco had more than 3.1 million subscribers at the end of September 2012, equivalent to a subscriber market share of 32.3%.
